It features a light carbon blade and a magnesium lever body. The pad-contact dial of the Juicy Seven and Carbon has been skipped in favour of a lighter Allen key adjustment, using a 2.5mm key - cleverly, the kind that you'll find on the removeable rebound adjust key at the bottom of a pair of Rockshox. At the caliper end, the caliper body is forged in one piece and finished in a high gloss finish with neat red alloy fla__sh piston cap. The other bolts are titanium and Avid has a new organic pad to go with the Ultimate. Weight for a 160mm rotor and brake is 343g.
Even Avid's product manager, Paul, has slimmed down for the 07 season... He's also been making some clever integration between SRAM and Avid, like a different backing plate for Avid levers that let you mount X0 or X9 shifters to the brake lever clamp, giving you more bar space.

Another integration is the new version of the Pop Loc bar lever, called the 'Push Loc', it aims to do away with the rather rubbish performance in the wet that can mean the Pop Loc doesn't really 'pop'. The Push Loc works a little like a ballpoint pen. Push it once and it sticks down, engaging the fork's platform. Push it again and it unclicks - simple. You can also bolt this to optional Avid brake lever back next to your shifter too...

You're hoping that I'll tell you that SRAM has made a more affordable of XO - like, perhaps, X-9? Well, you're in for a treat because they have. For 2007, SRAM will be making an X-9 shifter and derailleur based on the popular but nearly unobtainable XO.

The X-9 has many of the features of XO; the same small trigger release and a similar multi position clamp for moving the shifter to suit your brake levers. It has the same shape and quick cable change as the XO, though has a composite (ie plastic) cover, rather than carbon, and the thumb lever doesn't have the adjustment of the XO either.

The Argyle fork from Rockshox. Their new dirt jump fork - designed with lots of input from their sponsored riders, it's based on a Pike, but has beefy chromed steel stanchions. The minty green colour is called 'Punishmint'. The fork itself has 100mm of travel and is warranteed as a dirt jump fork, so they make great things about it being the first fork to be approved for upside down use...
作者: 13号疯疯 时间: 2006-6-18 09:59
